L.A. Times Travel Tidbits

The Los Angeles Times finally changed their airfare listing for flights originating from Los Angeles to Tokyo.

For their Sunday Travel section, the Times "researches" airfares and posts the "lowest" ones found.  For weeks, the Times had the L.A. to Tokyo price at $1,463.  I have found much lower airfares than theirs several times.

In yesterday's Travel section, they modified that to $823 - $1,463.  A slight improvement.

Elsewhere in the Times Travel section from yesterday, they had an article on two new travel-themed exhibits at Graceland, Elvis Presley's Memphis, Tennessee estate.

One will be about his movies and concerts in Hawaii (this year marks the 40th anniversary of the "Aloha From Hawaii" concert that was beamed around the world via satellite).  The other will be about Elvis's Las Vegas years.  Each promises artifacts that have never been seen before.

Although the Los Angeles Times as a newspaper is almost a shell of its former self, they still are putting on their annual Los Angeles Times Travel Show February 22-24 at the L.A. Convention Center.
