Reaching More Kaiju Enthusiasts Through JapanTourist

Above, my profile at JapanTourist.

Since September of last year, I have been contributing articles on places of kaiju fan tourist interest in Japan at JapanTourist.

Yesterday, I submitted my most recent article on the Lucky Dragon No. 5.  This is a familiar topic to fans of Godzilla as one of the inspirations for Godzilla was the 1954 incident involving the tuna fishing trawler.  There are many "out there" who may not be aware of the incident's connection to Godzilla.  Getting articles posted at travel sites such as JapanTourist (also Japan Reference's Portal) on our favorite movie monsters is a means to reach more people who are unlikely to be actively involved in giant monster fandom.

So far, my total article contributions are at three (see below).

As noted in the article on "Rodan's Saikai Bridge," it was through the televised showings of Japanese science-fiction and fantasy movies that many of the baby-boomer generation became exposed (or aware of) to Japanese culture.  Most of these baby-boomers are now parents (or even grandparents) who pass on their appreciation for Japanese monsters to their children and/or grandchildren, thus cultivating new generations of fans.

More such articles to follow.
