Today's the day (maybe) that Japan will have reached and surpassed its goal of 10 million foreign visitors for 2013.
Japan Today reported:
TOKYO —The Japan Tourism Agency said Thursday that the number of foreign visitors to Japan will surpass 10 million on Friday.
The agency said that as of Dec 16, the number of foreign visitors was recorded as 9,920,000, TBS reported.Once Japan reaches its 10 million visitor goal (whether it is today or a little later), I would say that congratulations are in order. It was only a year ago that the country's tourism industry was still in the doldrums due to the over-valued yen and the aftermath of the Great East Japan Earthquake and tsunami. This should be considered quite a comeback for the Japan tourism industry.
