...A ROUND OF SNOW COMING TO NORTHERN NEW MEXICO LATE SATURDAY
THROUGH EARLY SUNDAY...

The combination of a cold front and a potent upper level
disturbance will bring a round of precipitation to northern New
Mexico late Saturday, then gradually spread south into central
areas overnight into Sunday morning. Precipitation will likely
begin as rain at lower elevation locales before turning over to
snow late Saturday night. The greatest snow amounts are forecast
across the peaks of the Sangre De Cristo Mountains where 5 to 9
inches are possible. Lesser amounts between 3 and 6 inches are
possible in the Tusas and Jemez Mountains, as well as near Raton
Pass. A couple inches are possible in the highlands between Clines
Corners, Las Vegas and Raton. Travel impacts are expected and
Winter Weather Advisories will likely be required. Much colder
temperatures will follow on Sunday, especially for locales with
fresh snow on the ground.

Those planning travel through New Mexico should stay alert to the
latest forecasts and roadway conditions. Monitor NOAA weather
radio, weather.gov/abq or your local media for the latest on this
developing weather scenario. For the latest road conditions, visit
nmroads.com, dial 511, or 1.800.432.4269.
