Yesterday, the ground in Jamestown, New Mexico got a good soak as a thunderstorm passed through during the afternoon, thanks to the annual monsoon season.
We could use a lot more rain, but at this point, we're grateful for anything we may get.
Actually, over the past several days, we got some sporadic rain, but it had been light and was over as quickly as it began.
The main concern here is the national forest behind the community and the risk of fires.
Today, I am heading over to Grants for their annual Wild West Days Rodeo. The show goes on, rain or shine.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms after noon. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Partly sunny, with a high near 83. South wind 5 to 10 mph becoming east in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms after noon. Partly sunny, with a high near 84. South wind 5 to 10 mph becoming north in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
Saturday Night
A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 59. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph.
