Rainy Days Ahead?

It appears that we may be in for several days of thundershowers in the Jamestown, New Mexico area (along with the Four Corners). We should be getting this and a lot more during this monsoon season.

The last significant rainfall we received was Saturday night/morning. The ground was wet Saturday morning when I got home from my little trip to Chaco Canyon. Since then, nothing.

Here's what the National Weather Service says what's in store for the upcoming days:

Today

A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Partly sunny, with a high near 84. South wind 5 to 10 mph becoming east in the afternoon.

Tonight

A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 64. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph.

Wednesday

Showers and thunderstorms likely after noon. Partly sunny, with a high near 85. South wind 5 to 10 mph becoming north in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Wednesday Night

Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before midnight. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 61. East wind 5 to 15 mph becoming southwest after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 70%.

Thursday

Showers and thunderstorms, mainly after noon. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. High near 81. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming northwest in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 80%.
