Rain This Week?

So far, this year's monsoon season has been a big disappointment. Rain has been meager overall and it has been hot and humid this past week.

This week, at least according to the National Weather Service, may bring some rain relief. But I wouldn't bet the ranch on it.

Here's their forecast:

A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 3pm. Widespread haze after 3pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 90. Southeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming northwest in the afternoon.

Tonight

A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 9pm. Widespread haze before 9pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 59. Southeast wind 10 to 15 mph becoming south 5 to 10 mph after midnight.

Tuesday

Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after noon. Partly sunny, with a high near 86. Southeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming southwest in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Tuesday Night

Showers and thunderstorms, mainly before midnight. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Low around 60. Southwest wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%.

Wednesday

Showers and thunderstorms, mainly after noon. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. High near 78. West wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%.
