The first time my family and I drove from Las Vegas to Zion National Park in Utah, the drive Interstate 15 seemed long, almost endless. But in actuality, it is only 2.5 hours long.
The drive these days is not bad and there are things to see and do along the way.
TravelAwaits posted an article with seven "amazing" things to stop at. A couple they didn't mention were the Indian fireworks and tobacco store about an hour from Las Vegas and the CasaBlanca Resort, which includes a casino, restaurant, hotel and RV park in Mesquite, Nevada. I stopped there for breakfast while headed to Idaho for the Great American Eclipse in 2017. So I am including a photo of CasaBlanca Resort at top.
Still, the list contains places well worth a stop, if one is not in a hurry to get to Zion National Park.
They start it with:
When traveling from the Midwest to Zion National Park in Southern Utah, the best place for us to fly into is Las Vegas. The trip to Zion from Vegas is a fairly easy drive of about 2.5 hours, if you drive straight through. We did the drive during a week in the winter when traffic wasn’t bad at all. I imagine that, if you’re driving on a summer weekend, you’ll encounter quite a bit more traffic and drive times will be longer. Parts of the drive are spectacularly beautiful and other parts not so much. To break up the short drive, we set out to find interesting things to see and do between Las Vegas and Zion. Here is our list of what to see and do in the area.
