Around about the time (1951) that actress Phyllis Coates appeared in the Adventures of Superman, she had been in a series of one-reeler Joe McDoakes comedies.

Phyllis appears in several of the shorts as Joe's wife. She doesn't look the same as she did in the Adventures of Superman as she has blonde hair in these. When she completed filming the Superman episodes, and after the show became a sensational success, Phyllis had to revert to her blonde hair color as she was mobbed when she went out in public.
For fans of one-reeler or two-reeler comedies (Laurel and Hardy immediately come to mind) and Phyllis Coates, you may want to look into picking up this set.

Phyllis was absolutely drop dead gorgeous in this series. Check her out in the episode entitled "so you want to throw a party" or "so you want to be a muscle man". Sexy and beautiful!
