About That Millennium Suit At Godzilla Encounter...

Bleeding Cool.com has posted many photos of the Godzilla Encounter exhibit that was set up in a San Diego warehouse for Comic Con International.

What caught my attention were the photos of what is purported to be the millennium Godzilla suit used in Godzilla 2000: Millennium (1999) and Godzilla x Megaguirus (2000).

First of all, although the suits in the two movies are similar, a different suit with modifications made to the design was used Godzilla x Megaguirus (known as Gira-Goji).  The neck was modified and the shoulders were more pronounced in that movie.  Also, the Gira-Goji suit was greenish in color. The photo above is the Gira-Goji suit in November 2001. Note the differences in the neck and shoulders as well as the color from the suit shown at Bleeding Cool.

The suit shown is charcoal-grey in color and the neck and shoulders look more like the suit in Godzilla 2000: Millennium.  I kind of doubt the suit on display was an actual filming suit, unless extensive repairs were made to it (after all it is about 14 years old).  It could be an event suit as well.

But you can be the judge by going here.
