Japan's efforts to make the country more tourist-friendly seems to be paying off as the last two months saw record numbers in visitor arrivals.
According to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA):
TOKYO, June 18 (KUNA) -- The number of foreign visitors to Japan jumped 25.3 percent in May from a year earlier to top 1 million, the government said on Wednesday.
An estimated 1.10 million foreigners arrived in Japan last month on sightseeing or business, a record high for the month of May, according to the Japan National Tourism Organization. The figure was also the second-highest after the all-time high of 1.23 million logged in April.To read the full article, go here.
