In Silverton, Colorado

On our first full day in Colorado, Jessica and I went on the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad to Silverton.

Before boarding the train, we stopped at Durango Bagel. I had an onion bagel with just lox and cream cheese on it. It was excellent!

It takes (usually) three and a half hours for each way. On the way back from Silverton, we were delayed an hour due to a rockfall that left a boulder near or on the tracks. The railroad crew had to fire off two warning torpedoes and verify that the train had enough clearance to pass the boulder. It had six inches of clearance to pass it..

The ride was enjoyable and thanks to the monsoon rains we've been having, there were plenty of waterfalls to see.
