If I Were In L.A. Today...

One thing I miss about New Year's Day is the Oshogatsu celebration that annually takes place in Little Tokyo in downtown Los Angeles. 

It is a regular festival with performers onstage in Weller Court. 

I usually attended the Oshogatsu and enjoyed the festivities and would occasionally run into people I know such as former Assemblyman Paul Bannai. One of the enjoyable features are booths of Japanese toys, food, drinks and other Japanese-centric goods. Sometimes, bargains can be found in Little Tokyo shops.
