Legislator Contact

Above, Rep. Andrea Romero.

A little while ago, I sent the following email to Rep. Andrea Romero (D) of District 46 about her House Bill 101 outlawing semi-automatic rifles:

Dear Rep. Romero:

Your House Bill 101 banning some semi-automatic firearms is unconstitutional.

U.S. Supreme Court ruled in Heller (2008) that the Second Amendment protects “arms ‘in common use at the time’ for lawful purposes like self-defense.” With more than 24 million of these rifles in circulation throughout the country, according to the latest data, these semi-automatic rifles are clearly in common use.

Don't waste the taxpayers' money by inviting lawsuits that the state cannot win.

Sincerely,

Armand Vaquer

We'll have to wait and see what her response is, if she decides to even respond.

You may want to write to your representative in this format. Keep it matter-of-fact and polite.
