When I was in Gallup last evening for dinner, I noticed that the lowest price for unleaded regular was $4.18/gallon. This was at a gas station across the street from the El Rancho Hotel. It is down a tad from around $4.49/gallon a few days before.
According to RV Travel, diesel is a different matter.
They wrote in today's newsletter:
Gas prices remain the highest they’ve ever been for this time of year. Even though the national average dropped 5 cents this past week to $4.36, AAA reports that pump prices remain at record highs for autumn.The national average price for diesel was $6.28 on Thursday, up $2.50 from the start of the Iran war and up $3.68 from the same time last year.
The omitted, or wasn't aware of, the announcement by President Trump that he and Russian President Vladimir Putin made a deal in which the U.S. will buy 3,000,000 tons of diesel from Russia.
Predictably, President Zelensky of Ukraine was furious over this deal.
