Lever guns are often treated like nostalgia pieces, but that undersells how useful they still are. A good lever action is compact, quick to cycle, easy to carry, and available in cartridges that cover everything from small-game plinking to serious big-game hunting.
Modern versions have also erased many of the old limitations. You can now get threaded barrels, optic rails, weather-resistant finishes, detachable magazines, and chamberings that extend well beyond traditional pistol cartridges. These 20 lever guns prove the platform still has plenty of practical value.
