Red Wave Turned Out To Be A Red Trickle

Above, new Cibola County Magistrate Judge Tony Mace and yours truly. Photo by Nandoh Munoz.

Last night's midterm elections just proved once again that "stupid people should not be allowed to vote." Maybe they just want their "free stuff" and don't care that the country is being destroyed. The question has been raised, "If you wanted to destroy America, what things would you do differently than that the Democrats have been doing?" The likely answer has been, "Probably nothing."

This has to be the What The F*ck? election.

What was expected to be a Republican "red wave" turned out to be a "red trickle", if even that. New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham successfully fought off Mark Ronchetti to win reelection. It is a dead heat in the race between Rep. Yvette Herrell and Gabe Vasquez in a gerrymandered district is downright sad. She has been a good member of congress and doesn't deserve this.

I could go into the national races in other states, but I don't wish to be aggravated. But I'll just say something on two. Arizona, once "Goldwater Country", appears to be a basket case now. I don't think even Barry Goldwater could win there these days. California got what it deserves, it reelected Gov. Gavin Newsom, a total leftist lunatic. Glad I got out of there. We'll likely see the exodus out of Commiefornia increase.

At least John Block won his New Mexico House race. (Congratulations, John!) Cibola County has a new Magistrate Judge, Tony Mace. He won easily as he was unopposed. Although a Democrat, Mace was a good sheriff and will make a good judge.

The GOP should have done much better. I don't know if people hadn't been paying attention to what's been going on during the past two years or their ideology has totally blinded them to reality. Or maybe they are just happy with chaos.

One must shake their head over the results and say, "Crazy! Just crazy!"

RPNM Weekly Roundup: Election Day!

TODAY IS ELECTION DAY!

GO OUT AND VOTE!

Today is Election Day--PLEASE GET OUT AND VOTE!

Polls are open from 7am to 7pm across New Mexico today. More than 439,000 New Mexicans have cast votes so far.

You are deciding on our next governor, Congressional and legislative seats, statewide offices, key judicial seats and local offices across the state. RPNM urges everyone to get out and vote. Crime, education, border security, inflation and child welfare are among the key issues this election year.

Under Gov. Lujan Grisham and the progressives in the legislature, New Mexico has become a true embarrassment. Radicals at the Roundhouse continue to hurt New Mexico and keep our great state at the bottom. New Mexicans deserve better and deserve better leadership. You can change all this by electing conservatives who will change our state for the better. We need leaders who will restore traditional New Mexico values and promote faith, family and freedom.

For those working as poll challengers today:

If you need to report an issue occurring at the polls - Hotline number - (505) 305-0763

Are Rally Crowds An Indicator On What Will Happen On Election Day?

Above, last night's Ronchetti campaign rally in Albuquerque. Photo by Ronchetti Twitter post.

Do campaign rally crowds indicate what will take place on Election Day? It's hard to say.

Last night, GOP gubernatorial candidate Mark Ronchetti held a rally that drew a crowd of hundreds, if not a thousand attendees in Albuquerque. In contrast, only a few dozen people attended a rally for Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham.

The polls have shown statistical ties between the two. It has to be noted that most of them have oversampled Democrats. So the numbers for Ronchetti could possibly be greater in actuality. Once the votes are tabulated, we'll know for sure.

The polling places in the state will open in less than a half hour from now.

We changed the time two days ago, now it's time to change the New Mexico governor. Voters, it's in your hands.

No "Red Wave" Unless You Vote!

Today is Election Day.

To begin the process to end the madness of the past two years, every Republican and like-thinking Democrats and independents have to get out and vote.

We have a country to save! Vote!

Lujan Grisham's New Career: Rodeo Clown

Hopefully, when Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham is defeated tomorrow, she can begin a new career as a rodeo clown. We have plenty of rodeos around New Mexico and surrounding states for her to get plenty of work.

Well, she already has the clothes for the position!

Case in point:

KOB Provided MLG With Debate Questions Prior To Debate

This morning, I received the following email from the Ronchetti campaign. It says that evidence has surfaced that KOB provided Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham with debate questions in advance. This took place in 2018.

The email begins with:

BREAKING NEWS: Late last night, text messages were released by a lawyer showing that MLG’s campaign was given the complete debate questions and TV script weeks before the gubernatorial debate last election cycle.

MLG will do absolutely anything to attain and hold onto power, including cheating and deceiving New Mexico voters.

Some of the text messages were included in the email:

Frankly, the person with KOB should be immediately terminated if they haven't been already.

Mark Ronchettit posted on Twitter:
This is appalling.

Last night, it was revealed that in 2018 @KOB4 provided
@Michelle4NM with the questions to their debate BEFORE the debate happened.

I’m calling on KOB to do a full investigation & provide full transparency if this collusion with MLG happened again this year.

Biden Coming To New Mexico Today In His "Dumb and Dumber" Tour

His Fraudulency Joe Biden will be in New Mexico today stumping for Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham. We can call it the "Dumb and Dumber" tour. I'll let you decide on who is dumber.

Right now, the polls show Lujan Grisham is in a statistical tie with Mark Ronchetti. Lujan Grisham is in political trouble after the way she killed off businesses and jobs during the pandemic and using the state police as her personal Gestapo. So, they're "sending in the clowns" to help her.

Biden, in another gaffe (they never end), said he's visiting Mexico.

According to the Piñon Post:

On Sunday, while speaking with reporters, Joe Biden said he’s going to be busy campaigning in many states for Democrat candidates.

He told reporters while speaking from Wilmington, Delaware, “I’m gonna be engaged. I’m gonna be back in Pennsylvania, gonna be in Maryland, gonna be, I believe, in Mexico, California. So I’m gonna be all around the country.”

Maybe Biden isn't too off the mark, considering his open borders policy with the hordes flowing into the state from Mexico, thereby turning New Mexico into Mexico.

We'll have to sit back and watch the Sniffer and Groper tour New Mexico.

Ronchetti Endorsed By Trump

Above, former President Donald Trump by Asya.

The New Mexico gubernatorial campaign just got even more interesting. This is in a good way!

Former President Donald Trump has endorsed Mark Ronchetti for governor in a post at Truth Social.

The Piñon Post reported:

In an early morning Truth Social post Monday, President Donald J. Trump threw his support around New Mexico Republican gubernatorial nominee Mark Ronchetti, who is running against far-left Democrat Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham.

The 45th President said, “New Mexico has an absolutely terrible Governor, Michelle Lujan Grisham. She is WEAK on Crime, bad on the Border where illegal aliens are pouring into our Country at record numbers, & has almost no support from Law Enforcement, which fully understands what a disaster she has been. Also, Drugs & Human Trafficking are OUT OF CONTROL.”

He then praised Ronchetti as an “outstanding” candidate.

Trump wrote, “The good news is that Republican Nominee Mark Ronchetti is outstanding. He will be tough & smart on Crime, the Border & everything else. Mark [has] my Total Endorsement!”

Governor-To-Be At The Flying J

Above, Mark Ronchetti making a purchase at the Flying J. Photo by Armand Vaquer.

Following out usual Saturday morning coffee/breakfast at Denny's in the Jamestown Flying J, I was heading over to the post office to check my mailbox when I ran into GOP gubernatorial nominee Mark Ronchetti.

He was in line with his daughter at the checkout counter.

I walked up to him and said, "I know you! I have one of your signs in my front yard!" He gave me a big grin and thanked me. I told him, "Good luck!" and shook his hand before I was headed to the post office.

He had concluded a campaign event in Grants a little earlier this morning.

UPDATE (10/30/22):

After leaving the Flying J, Ronchetti attended campaign events in Gallup and Farmington. Those events were well-attended, judging from the photos of them posted on Twitter. Those events and the one earlier in Grants were part of his #RonchettiOnTheRoad RV Tour.

Lousy Dancer, Lousy Governor

Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham, as posted on Facebook. Does she dignify the office she holds?

Someone step on her foot?

Biden Coming to New Mexico

Democrats in New Mexico are getting desperate.

With Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham behind Mark Ronchetti in the latest Trafalgar Group poll, they need His Fraudulency Joe Biden to come to the rescue.

KOAT reported:

WASHINGTON — The White House has announced that President Joe Biden will be traveling to New Mexico on Nov. 3.

The White House says the president will be meeting with New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham and other state and local leaders. The trip comes just a few days before Election Day.

This will be the second visit by the president this year.

Her Fraudulency Kamala Harris was in New Mexico a few days ago.

I seriously doubt that Biden will do Lujan Grisham any good.

Trafalgar Group Poll: Ronchetti Leading Lujan Grisham

It appears that Republican gubernatorial candidate Mark Ronchetti has received a post-debate bounce.

He is now leading Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham in the latest Trafalgar Group poll.

According to the Piñon Post:

The poll, which oversampled Democrats (47.6 percent) versus Republicans (36.3 percent) and oversampled women (52 percent) versus men (48 percent), is a clear indicator that Ronchetti has made up the small gap shown in other previous polls, showing him trailing by only single digits.

If this is the case, Ronchetti may actually be doing better than what this poll shows.

Albuquerque Journal Endorses Ronchetti

It is debatable these days whether a newspaper's endorsement carries any weight anymore. But, when one is a challenger to an incumbent, any help is important.

Republican candidate for governor Mark Ronchetti has been endorsed by the Albuquerque Journal.

Their endorsement begins with:

New Mexico is at a crossroads.

Violent crime is harming, traumatizing and quite literally killing too many New Mexicans. Property crime, paired with the national economic downturn and pandemic closures, continues to hurt residents and business owners financially. Not enough of the record billion-dollar revenues from oil and gas has been invested in lasting infrastructure that will improve lives for decades to come. And four years into her administration, our governor’s promised “education moonshot” has yet to launch as our children, especially our minority and low-income children, fall further and further behind.

We simply cannot afford four more years of the same.

And so in this gubernatorial campaign the Journal is endorsing Mark Ronchetti, a Republican political neophyte with zero management experience, rather than Democratic incumbent Michelle Lujan Grisham, who has — along with progressive lawmakers — aggressively increased the state’s spending with little accountability. (Libertarian Karen Bedonie has little name recognition, little funding and is not a viable candidate.)

They conclude with:

In what has become an increasingly blue state, Lujan Grisham has the clear advantage in this election. Recently she spoke of common-sense strategies that have not been in her repertoire — pushing for a statewide panhandling law, doubling down on supporting rebuttable presumption to keep the most dangerous defendants behind bars while awaiting trial, and mandating the school year be extended. If elected, we hope she follows through on these potential game changers.

If these had occurred during her first term, this endorsement might look very different. But they didn’t. And so we ask: Are we better off than we were four years ago? Do we want four more years of the same?

We are not and do not. The Journal endorses Republican Mark Ronchetti for governor.

Monique's Story: The Ad MLG Is Terrified Voters Will See

The Democrats are now losing ground in the polls as we are only a few weeks away from Election Day. They have been hammered hard over the rise in crime and their policies of catch & release, defunding police, soft on crime prosecutors, non-prosecution, early releases and the list goes on.

It is even hitting home in New Mexico.

The Ad MLG Is Terrified Voters Will See. That's according to the Mark Ronchetti campaign for governor of New Mexico. It is easy to see why.

According to an email I received yesterday evening:

MLG thought she was getting away with it. But the tragic murder of one innocent mom – Monique Gonzales – and her family’s courage to speak out threatens to crystalize this issue with New Mexicans and MLG knows it. She is desperate to make sure Monique’s story is not heard.

Monique’s grandparents, who raised her, have courageously stepped forward to tell Monique’s story and hold the governor accountable for her early release policies in this new commercial:

It’s critical that voters see this TV ad. Why? Because MLG will continue to lie about this case and she’ll find allies in the media who will ignore the facts and do her bidding.

Here’s the truth – MLG took office with the clear goal of emptying our prisons. She appointed liberals to run the parole board and corrections to accomplish this goal, and the prison population has been reduced 26% since she took office. Those criminals who are back on the streets and included murderer Chris Beltran.

  • MLG first released Beltran early on September 28, 2020 when she commuted his sentence as part of her COVID early release order.

  • Beltran immediately absconded from parole on October 6, 2020, and was finally tracked down and arrested on October 26, 2020, and sent back to prison.

  • Beltran was supposed to serve his court-imposed parole sentence in prison until November 21, 2021. Under state law, Beltran was ineligible for standard “good time” deductions. But that didn’t stop MLG’s administration from doing it anyway.

  • Beltran repeatedly threatened Monique on recorded prison phone calls in the days and weeks prior to his early release. MLG’s pro-criminal administration did nothing about these threats and continued to illegally give Beltran “good time.”

  •  Ignoring state law, MLG’s administration illegally released Beltran early again --- nearly 5 months early --- on June 22, 2021.

  • Just like he threatened on the recorded prison phone calls, Beltran hunted Monique down and murdered her 4 days after MLG’s administration illegal released him early on June 26, 2021.

Bedonie Outs Herself As A Spoiler

Above, Karen Bedonie, libertarian turned screwball.

If dogcatcher were an elective office and Karen Bedonie ran for it in New Mexico, she would not get my vote. Furthermore, she would never get my vote for any future campaign she may enter.

Sunday night, apparently during a live stream video, she outed herself as a spoiler who seeks to split the Republican vote between herself and Mark Ronchetti. Some libertarian!

Piñon Post reported:

On Sunday night, a video began circulating showing a Republican-turned-Libertarian gubernatorial candidate Karen Bedonie saying her Republican rival Mark Ronchetti “cannot win” with her in the race. Both are running to unseat Democrat first-term Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham.

In the video shared on Twitter, Bedonie says, “The only comfort I find in this race is that man (Mark Ronchetti) cannot win with me in the way. That man cannot win this race. He will never be governor as long as I am alive and well and in this race.

The snippet appears to be taken from a previous live stream Bedonie made, where she claimed around the 22:30 mark, “It’s amazing some of the phone calls that come in. Like, what does it take for a person to really hate somebody to call the campaign and to yell at our campaign team and telling them that Karen’s gonna split the vote? How crazy are you really thinking this is because it’s impossible to split a vote that was never his? Ronchetti is not a conservative, he’s not a New Mexican. The only comfort I find in this race is that man (Mark Ronchetti) cannot win with me in the way. That man cannot win this race. He will never be governor as long as I am alive and well and in this race”

Besides angering Republicans, Bedonie apparently has turned off some of her own supporters with this admission. At least she made this admission now instead of at the last minute so people can absorb the fact that she is a wacko.

Anyone who would vote for this screwball after this should get their head examined.

NRA Ronchetti Mailer

The National Rifle Association is pulling all the stops this year in the gubernatorial campaign between Republican Mark Ronchetti and Democrat Michelle Lujan Grisham. They know how vital it is to protect our Second Amendment rights in New Mexico. Mark Ronchetti will protect those rights, Lujan Grisham won't.

I received a mailer from the NRA-ILA supporting Ronchetti. Hopefully, it will convince enough fence-sitters into voting for Ronchetti on November 8 to assure a victory.

Here's the mailer:

Only a fool would vote for MLG or a third-party candidate that would inflict her on New Mexico for another four years.

Piñon Post Recap of Last Night's NM Gubernatorial Debate

Last night's debate between Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham and Mark Ronchetti was one fiery debate.

John Block of Piñon Post has posted a good recap of the debate.

He begins it with:

On Wednesday night, Democrat Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham and Republican nominee Mark Ronchetti met on KOAT 7 for the second gubernatorial debate, moderated by the station’s Doug Fernandez. KOAT’s Kelly Ribando, the Albuquerque Journal’s Dan Boyd, and KKOB radio’s Bob Clark as panelists.

During the fiery debate, the two candidates presented their plans for New Mexico — the current one or a new vision for the state.

While Ronchetti continued speaking about kitchen table issues, such as violent crime, with New Mexico being the second most violent state in the nation, and fixing the stagnant economy, Lujan Grisham couldn’t shake her obsession with talking about abortion.

In her opening statement, she erroneously claimed, “My opponent wants to ban abortion,” despite Ronchetti wanting a constitutional amendment to decide the issue, as he has previously stated. Lujan Grisham continued, “As governor, I promise to protect your privacy protections and to expand access to reproductive health care (abortions) for women and their families.”

Continuing on abortion, Lujan Grisham reaffirmed that she supports abortion up to birth with absolutely no restrictions whatsoever.

Tonight's New Mexico Gubernatorial Debate

Watching Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham during tonight's debate reminded me a lot of:

Are you going to believe what you see or what I tell you?

There was a lot of that, along with obfuscation and gaslighting, by Lujan Grisham. She's saying that New Mexico is doing great, but people know better (or at least they should).

Mark Ronchetti hammered Lujan Grisham on several issues. Unfortunately, I think he may have overdid the governor's sexual harassment settlement issue that led to a $150,000 settlement with a former staffer. She, of course, tried to play herself off as the victim in the matter, which is laughable. Later, she tried to play Jeopardy with a question to Ronchetti on an abortion drug.

She was a broken record in trying to turn everything into abortion or Ronchetti's lack of government experience. If her 30-year experience in government is so great, why is she screwing up the state?

She bristled at one point and interrupted Ronchetti during his answer time. She also got upset over how a question on the newly closed San Juan power plant was asked. The woman struggled to keep her cool.

Lujan Grisham did not look at all like a confident incumbent. Ronchetti looked and acted more confident. Due to the time constraints by the moderator, both seemed rushed during their responses and had to talk fast. Ronchetti's television experience served him well when responding to the questions. Lujan Grisham stumbled several times.

Anyway, it was an entertaining hour.

RPNM Statement on the NM Gubernatorial Debate

REPUBLICAN PARTY OF NEW MEXICO STATEMENT ON TONIGHT'S SECOND GUBERNATORIAL DEBATE

Albuquerque, October 12—The following is a statement from RPNM Chairman Steve Pearce on tonight's second gubernatorial debate sponsored by KOAT-TV, the Albuquerque Journal and KKOB-AM:

“Once again Mark Ronchetti proved he is the superior candidate and the clear choice to lead our state. Tonight's debate demonstrated he understands New Mexico's serious problems--such as crime, education, border security and homelessness--and knows how to solve them. He provided specifics in his answers, showed leadership and offered real solutions, while the Governor continued to stray from the hard issues facing her. Lujan Grisham looked weak and ineffective. The Governor again could not offer viewers and listeners good reasons to vote for her: she has destroyed our state economically, cost New Mexicans thousands of jobs, failed to properly educate our children, endangered our communities with a growing crime crisis, threatened our towns by allowing illegal migrants to pour into New Mexico and has consistently lied to her constituents. Mark knows it's time to rebuild our state and restore New Mexico's traditional values, and tonight he made it clear he has the qualities, knowledge, solutions and a vision to steer our state back on track."
