A transient who was arrested in October was charged yesterday in the murder of a camper in Malibu Creek State Park last June.
According to Fox News:
A transient turned survivalist now behind bars for a string of burglaries in the Malibu Creek State Park area was charged Monday with the murder of a man fatally shot on a summer camping trip in front of his two young daughters, according to a report Monday.
Anthony Rauda, 42, was accused of killing 35-year-old Tristan Beaudette who was shot as he and his daughters slept in a tent last June, KTLA-TV reported. Local media described the suspect as a survivalist last fall; Rauda's family told one reporter he suffered from mental illness and had retreated to the mountains.
Up until I moved to New Mexico, I regularly used the holding tank dump station at Malibu Creek State Park, so this hit a little close to home. Rauda is a suspect in several incidents in the area dating back to 2016.
