Winter Storm's Here

Above, the Animas River in Colorado. Photo by Armand Vaquer.

No snow (at least so far), but we did have some entertaining thundershowers this evening.

Presently (at this writing) it is about 43° outside. A bit cold for September. Thankfully, I brought indoors the mini jade plant. It was almost killed a year or two ago from the cold nighttime temperatures. But it has bounced back just fine.

Tonight's air is the freshest we've had in days. It has been smoky for the past several days due to the fires in Colorado.

Durango, Colorado, where we're headed tomorrow, seems to be spared from snowy conditions, but it will rain.

According to the National Weather Service (for Durango):

Tonight
Showers. Low around 34. East wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%.
Wednesday
Showers, with thunderstorms also possible after noon. High near 57. East southeast wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%.
Wednesday Night
Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Low around 38. Southeast wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%.
Thursday
Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 9am, then showers likely between 9am and noon, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 62. Southeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming south southwest in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
Thursday Night
