Silver is still hovering near the $30/toz mark.
According to USA Today (posted yesterday):
Silver traded at $29.62 per ounce as of 9 a.m. ET. That represents a decrease of 0.67% over the past 24 hours. Year to date, silver is up 23.81%.
On the last day, it has reached a low of $29.27 and a high of $29.97.
Much of this is in anticipation of Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell's speech, according to Trading Pedia:
Spot Silver edged down on Thursday, while the US Dollar rebounded from a nearly 8-month low ahead of a speech by Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell at the Jackson Hole economic symposium that may provide more insight into potential interest rate cuts.
Meanwhile, the minutes of the Federal Reserve’s July meeting signaled that monetary easing was likely to begin in September.
