McGaffey Area Campgrounds

Up in the Cibola National Forest about 20 miles from home in Jamestown, New Mexico (near Fort Wingate), is a recreational area that includes hiking trails, McGaffey Lake and two campgroounds: McGaffey Campground and Quaking Aspen Campground.

I took a little drive up NM Highway 400 to see McGaffey Lake and to see what the recreational area has to offer.

It is nice and convenient to have National Forest Campgrounds so close to home. Right now, the roads to the two campgrounds were still closed for the season. The photos were taken from the road barriers of both.

I will likely try them out this summer.
