The New Mexico Shooting Sports Association posted some good news today:
The 2019 Legislative Session is over! Together, we stopped HB83 the gun-confiscation bill, HB130 the "criminal protection act," and HB35 the state-level fees and regulations on FFLs bill. The deck was stacked against us, but we managed to stop 60% of the anti-gun agenda. Now that the session is over, we will begin to examine our options on the two bills that passed, SB8 and SB328, as well planning for future sessions - the bills that we stopped will come back.
Thank you to everyone who called, emailed, attended rallies and hearings, and supported the Second-Amendment "Sanctuary" movement. We cannot thank our sheriffs enough for standing up for the rights of their constituents and for their hard work this session. There is more work to be done, but we are going to head to the range this afternoon for some long overdue range time.
