Roswell, the sixth biggest city in New Mexico and home of the International UFO Museum and Research Center, has become another city to declare itself a "Second Amendment Sanctuary City".
According to the Roswell Daily Record:
Two resolutions, one declaring Roswell a Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution sanctuary city and another “in support of the unborn,” were passed by the Roswell City Council.
In the drafted abstracts of both resolutions, the city stated to not enforce proposed laws or regulations conflicting with the right to bear arms or protecting “fetal life” and morals of healthcare professionals. These resolutions are in response to gun control and limitations on abortion currently being reviewed by the New Mexico State Legislature.
The resolution for Second Amendment sanctuary measure was passed 9 to 1 by the council. After being amended to include support of adoption, the resolution in support of the unborn was approved with a vote of 7 to 1 with one councilor abstaining.
