Travelers with dreams of riding a Japanese bullet train and touring the country on its world famous train system will now have an exciting new advantage. Japan Experience, an international leading provider of Japanese rail passes, announced that it will publish a 160-page guidebook for traveling the country by rail.
The guidebook, called The Japanese Railways, will be sent with all orders of any type of rail pass ordered from their website, Japan-Rail-Pass.com.
The book, set to be shipped starting from the end of February, is a comprehensive guide for traveling anywhere in Japan by train. Sharp, easy-to-read graphics show the routes of the most widely used train lines across the country, such as the Chuo Line, running from Tokyo to Nagoya, and the Sanyo Line from Kobe to Hiroshima. The graphics are detailed with explanations of the major stops along the way and other points of note.
The Japanese Railways will also have tips and tricks for each major city in Japan, carefully chosen by team of Japan experts. Learn where to eat, where to stay, and what to see, with information on how to access these places based on your point of arrival, the main train station. Readers will also find twelve suggested itineraries and detailed maps interspersed throughout the book.
The back of the guide includes articles and advice on how to make the most of your train travel. Different articles teach travelers the best places to buy food for the train (“ekiben”), how to plan your entire trip down to the minute online, and when and where to see the sights of Japan-- rolling mountains, vast rice fields and oceans-- out of your train window.
“For many, train travel is an essential element of a trip to Japan,” said Claude Sauliere, CEO of Japan Experience. “Travelers expect to ride the bullet train and see Mt. Fuji out of their window. We feel that it’s part of our duty to provide the best insight into how to do this and so much more, to make their voyage an unforgettable experience.”
