Ken Hulsey over at Monster Island News reported that Kadokawa Pictures is in the early stages of producing a 50th anniversary Gamera movie.
According to Hulsey's article:
The plans for this new film were revealed recently when the Japanese retailer Amiami listed an advertisement for the upcoming Summer issue of Newtype magazine that has the exclusive scoop on the details. The issue will reportedly contain storyboard images and other pre-production art. Until now a 50th anniversary Gamera film had been speculated but not confirmed. It would be nice to see a new Gamera movie come out. The last one was in 2006, Gamera The Brave, that fans generally liked, but failed to generate great box office receipts. I attended the April 2006 premiere of Gamera The Brave in Tokyo, which did have a packed theater audience.

Will the movie be a continuation of Gamera The Brave, or will it be the beginning of a whole new series (provided it does well in ticket sales) or a stand-alone movie?
