It is interesting to read articles on Japan travel from sources located in other countries or, in the case of the U.S., other states.
Such is the case with the Richmond, Virginia Richmond Times-Dispatch.
They posted on their website an article on Japan being "a treasure trove for travelers."
They start it out with:
Outstanding gardens, magnificent pagodas and intriguing culture entice tourists to Japan — and they don’t disappoint! — but the Land of the Rising Sun offers so much more. Japan is rich with scenic sites and once-in-a-lifetime experiences.
It’s also a country of dichotomies: unspoiled villages and ultramodern metropolises; humble simplicity and complex rules of refinement; ancient tradition and futuristic vision; peaceful tranquility and hold-on-to-your-seat adventure. To read the article, go here.
