Back on November 18, I blogged about the new giant paper lantern that was installed at the Kaminarimon gate to Asakusa's Nakamise Street and Sensoji Temple. A dedication ceremony was held that date.
Panasonic Corp., formerly known as Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., has been commissioned to build the lantern since 1960 and it is rebuilt every ten years.
During my trip to Japan last month, I was able to see the new lantern for the first time and took the above photo of it.
