Six years ago, we flew to Hawaii aboard Hawaiian Airlines. The trip was uneventful except we did get served a meal, something that is extremely rare these days on domestic flights. I don't remember what we had, so it must not have been remarkable.
Since Southwest Airlines has started service to Hawaii, comparisons on price and comfort between it and Hawaiian Airlines have been popping up. The new competition between the two has produced lower fares (you just have to search for them).
