Classic Rock Music Monday

The stuff that now passes as "music", particularly rock 'n roll, leaves me cold. So, to start off the week, here's a video of a classic rock artist.

To start off the week, we have Dave Mason performing "Show Me Some Affection" from his 1976 Certified Live album. Now in his 70s, Mason is still active.

From Wikipedia:

David Thomas Mason (born 10 May 1946) is an English singer-songwriter and guitarist from Worcester, who first found fame with the rock band Traffic. Over the course of his career, Mason has played and recorded with many notable pop and rock musicians, including Paul McCartney, George Harrison, the Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Michael Jackson, David Crosby, Graham Nash, Steve Winwood, Fleetwood Mac, Delaney & Bonnie, Leon Russell, and Cass Elliot.

As a bonus, here is Mason performing Bob Dylan's "All Along The Watchtower" at the Universal Ampitheater in Los Angeles. Many feel that his version ranks right up with Jimi Hendrix's.

Mason came into the studio where Hendrix was recording his version and played bass as Experience bassist Noel Redding became dissatisfied with the song (preferring Dylan's). Ultimately, Hendrix played the bass track himself.
