Back in 2004, a group of 60 Godzilla fans toured Japan on an organized tour by Daikaiju Enterprises, Ltd., the publisher of G-FAN magazine.
One of the tour's stops was a visit to Miyajima Island near Hiroshima.
It was an interesting place with many deer wandering around the island's village near the Itsukushima Shrine.
SoloSophie has posted a guide to Miyajima Island for those considering a visit.
It begins with:
Wild deer, a breathtaking Torii gate that look as if its floating on the water, and one of the most breathtaking mountain hikes in Japan: there’s no shortage of things to do in Miyajima to impress even the most discerning of travellers. Easy to visit over the course of a day, here’s your guide to the best things to do on Miyajima Island.
