One aspect that I enjoy about motion pictures is seeing the locations that were used in them.
Back in 2010, I published The Monster Movie Fan's Guide To Japan on locations and attractions connected to Japan's daikaiju eiga (giant monster movie). This fondness for locations extends into ones in the U.S. as well.
OtakuKart posted an article on where was She Wore A Yellow Ribbon (1949) filmed that starred John Wayne and directed by John Ford.

Regular readers of this blog know that the prime location(s) used was Monument Valley.
OtakuKart begins their article with:
The biggest successful and expensive movie, “She Wore a Yellow Ribbon”, is a 1949 American Technicolor Western film. John Ford directed the movie, starring John Wayne. The film was made with a huge budget of 1.6 million dollars, which makes it one of the most costly Western films ever at that time. It is the second film of Ford’s “Cavalry Trilogy,” along with Fort Apache in 1948 and the Rio Grande in 1949. Moreover, She Wore a Yellow Ribbon has some breathtaking locations for its filming. Hence, it becomes the most interesting part of this film when it comes to the film’s filming locales. So, where exactly was ‘She Wore A Yellow Ribbon’ filmed?

I have been to Monument Valley twice, the last being was in November 2016. It is a tribal park of the Navajo Nation.
