Storm On Its Way

Above, looking west, the storm front is in Arizona. Photo by Armand Vaquer.

A little bit ago, I took a look outside and saw that we still have clear skies.

However, due west, are dark clouds just above the horizon. It looks like the leading edge of the winter storm front is now in Arizona (the border is 40 miles away) and on the way here in New Mexico.

Will we get the snow that has been forecast? We'll see. If they begin, they will probably start overnight or tomorrow morning at the earliest. I am prepared. I have plenty of food and supplies and filled the outdoor cats's food and water containers.

The vehicles are safely in their garages.

So, we're ready.

In Flagstaff, Arizona (about 240 miles west on Interstate 40) the forecast for tonight from the National Weather Service:

Tonight

Monday
A 40 percent chance of snow showers. Partly sunny, with a steady temperature around 26. Southwest wind 5 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. New snow accumulation of around an inch possible.

Here in Jamestown, the forecast:
