NMSSA Legislative Update 2/4
Tomorrow, 2/5, the Senate Judiciary Committee will be hearing HB129, the 7-day firearm purchase waiting period bill. The bill was amended down to 7 days on the House Floor. They only gave the bill one committee assignment on the Senate side, so this will be the last chance to testify on the bill. The meeting is scheduled for 1/2 hour after the afternoon Senate Floor session in Room 321 (zoom link).
Also tomorrow, 2/5, the Senate Health and Public Affairs Committee will be hearing SB204, the parks and playgrounds gun ban. The meeting is scheduled for 1/2 hour after the afternoon Senate Floor Session in Room 311 (zoom link).
There are still several bills waiting for votes on the House Floor. While we will not have a chance to testify on the bills on the floor, we must keep up the pressure against the bills before any vote takes place.
