Republican Victory Reveals Gallup Bias Against Guns

It looks like the Gallup Poll has a bias against guns as their poll taken before the election is skewed towards gun control.

It is getting so that practically every poll is not to be trusted anymore.

The New American reported:

A month before the November presidential election, Gallup conducted a poll on Second Amendment and firearm issues. Predictably, the group reported that most Americans (56 percent) want more gun-control laws.

A month later, voters went to the polls and voted into office pro-gun, pro-Second Amendment candidates. This included the reelection of Donald Trump with his pro-gun, pro-Second Amendment agenda.

Stossel: Facebook Fact-Checking A Pretext Used To Defame Users

Television host John Stossel is suing Facebook and two of its fact-checking partners for defamation over two videos Stossel posted on Facebook.

From what the article states, Facebook is not "fact-checking", it's "opinion-checking".

From The Epoch Times:

Labels placed on posts on Facebook accompanying so-called fact-checks are opinion, lawyers for the social media platform’s parent company said in a recent court filing.

Television host John Stossel sued Facebook and two of its fact-checking partners, Science Feedback and Climate Feedback, earlier this year, accusing the entities of defaming him.

Stossel posted two video reports on Facebook, one of which explored the forest fires devastating California in 2020, including an interview with Michael Shellenberger, a climate change expert.

Stossel said that climate change has made things worse in the state; Shellenberger said climate change played a role but that mismanaged forests were the primary reason for the large fires.

Facebook placed a label over the video, telling users that it was “missing context.”

If users clicked through, they were met with a page on Climate Feedback’s website that stated “Claim – ‘forest fires are caused by poor management. Not by climate change.” and “Verdict: misleading.”

That claim, though, is “contained nowhere in” Stossel’s video, the suit says.

Stossel said he reached out to Climate Feedback and they didn’t respond, but two of the scientists listed as the group’s reviewers admitted they had not reviewed the video.

A similar situation played out with a different video, which explored “environmental alarmists.”

Stossel said the fact-checking process “is nothing more than a pretext used by defendants to defame users with impunity, particularly when defendants disagree with the scientific opinions expressed in user content.”

The case was filed in federal court in northern California.

I hope Stossel prevails. This is one case we should keep a sharp eye on.

I agree with Stossel's claim that Facebook's fact-checking process is nothing more than a pretext used by them to defame users with impunity. Items shared by me were all already in the news feed and not originated by me.

Facebook feels it can abuse users with so-called fact-checking that are solely based on their opinion, as its own lawyers stated in court filings. Interesting.

Lujan Grisham Settles Sexual Misconduct Case With Former Aide

The double standard of the media is no secret to anyone, particularly when it comes to sexual misconduct allegations against Republican and Democrat lawmakers.

The latest involves Gov. "Malevolent Michelle" Lujan Grisham of New Mexico. I've long suspected that she's one strange cookie, and the following confirms my suspicions.

From The Daily Wire:

A story that won’t receive as much media attention as one involving a male Republican governor, the female Democratic governor of New Mexico’s 2018 campaign recently reached a settlement with a former male aide who accused her of sexual misconduct.

The Albuquerque Journal reported that Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham (D-NM)’s campaign reached a settlement with James Hallinan, who worked as a spokesperson for her 2018 gubernatorial campaign.

Hallinan claimed in late 2019 — a year after leaving the campaign — that during the campaign, Lujan Grisham had poured a bottle of water on his crotch and then grabbed his crotch through his clothing while laughing. Hallinan claimed other staffers witnessed this event.

Lujan Grisham’s campaign spokesman Jared Leopold said in a statement Monday that the payment to Hallinan — which amounts to at least $62,500 paid out over five months — was part of a settlement that resolved “numerous dubious and disputed potential claims made by Mr. Hallinan arising from his employment in 2018 with the campaign organization and his subsequent search for employment.”

If the incident was as "dubious and disputed" as Lujan Grisham's campaign say it is, I sure has heck wouldn't pay Hallinan a dime, even if the pay-off came from the campaign coffers, and would fight it out in court to clear my name. In this case, where there's smoke, there's fire maybe?

To liberal media outlets, the "real" story is not Lujan Grisham's ball-grabbing, it is the GOP for "pouncing" on the story.

The Demonization of Private Gun Ownership On Television

Along with the biased fake news media, television shows do not portray the realities of private gun ownership and how they stop crimes in progress.

Townhall.com has an excellent article on this that everyone should read.

They begin with:

The push to demonize private gun ownership never stops. Michael Bloomberg and other gun control advocates are continuing to pour hundreds of millions of dollars into research that the news media uncritically disseminates. 

Entertainment television shows are no less one-sided.  

Americans use guns defensively about 2 million times a year — about 5 times more frequently than guns are used to commit crimes. But don’t expect to see gun owners saving the day on television. Instead, gun owners are bigoted, hotheaded, and dangerous.

It is about time that the "chickens came home to roost" against the lying, biased and irresponsible liberal media. They should be held accountable and made to pay.

PJ Media reported:

Thanks to the sloppy, one-sided reporting of the malicious, agenda-driven media, a group of Catholic high school teenagers and their families have become the subjects of threats and harassment from a hateful online outrage mob. Their only sins? Being white, Catholic, and supporters of the president. 

The full story has emerged in the wake of the fake news blitzkrieg over the weekend, and the media outlets that spread defamatory smears against the kids are now being warned to correct and retract their stories or face a lawsuit. Contrary to the media's malicious narrative, the kids were not racist rednecks mobbing a Native American elder with hateful slurs. It was quite the opposite. 

Los Angeles-based trial lawyer Robert Barnes offered to represent the Covington families for free should they decide to sue the New York Times. 

Barnes said that "corrections" in articles "may not be enough" and demands full retractions or media outlets will be sued.

CNN Host Has Meltdown

CNN's anchors' skins must be getting thinner by the day.

CNN anchor Kate Bolduan had a meltdown on live TV on Tuesday after one of her guests questioned the validity of CNN’s anonymous sources. 

Navy Seal Carl Higbie, a supporter of Donald Trump, said CNN’s “anonymous sources” reporting on last week’s Trump-Russia meeting should come forward and name themselves if they want their anonymous accusations to be taken seriously.

Christie Gets The Proctocope While Obama Gets A Pass By Media

I am not a fan of New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, but it appears that Jay Leno has a point. Christie seems to be taking a page from President Obama's playbook.

President Obama has denied knowledge about every scandal that has hit his administration. Benghazi, the IRS, NSA spying on Americans, Fast & Furious and so on. Thus far, the media has been going after Christie over a matter that is like "jaywalking" (according to the Wall Street Journal) in comparison to the electronic spying of Americans' phone calls while giving Obama a pass on all of his (and Hillary Clinton's) scandals.

It is plausible that Christie was deceived and didn't know about the bridge closure. Yet the media is going after him with a proctoscope because he is not a Democrat.

It's the usual double-standard by the liberal media. Go after Republicans with gusto and ignore Democrat shenanigans.

Well, there's one good thing, at least. The Amazon Kindle ebook ad for The Monster Movie Fan's Guide To Japan is appearing at The Drudge Report and in other news websites during a time of high traffic (no pun intended).

Monica Crowley: Calling BS On The Leftist Media

Political pundit Monica Crowley applauded GOP National Chairman Reince Priebus for telling NBC (National Barack Channel) and CNN (Clinton News Network) to take a hike on hosting 2016 presidential debates if they air puff programs on Hillary Clinton.

She wrote on her blog:

Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus and the RNC have finally thrown down the gauntlet on media bias. They want NBC and CNN to cancel upcoming programs on Hillary Rodham Clinton and are threatening to blackball the networks from future Republican presidential debates if they fail to comply. 

To that, I say: AMEN. 

Reince is absolutely right to call for NBC and CNN to cancel these films. We all know, given these networks' leftist politics, that these films will be nothing more than gauzy propaganda pieces to elevate and celebrate her. The only leverage the GOP really has is to threaten to pull debates from those networks if they air this propaganda, and I say more power to him!

I agree with Crowley. We already know how biased these networks are and the time has come to call them out on their BS.

White House Whining Again About Drudge

Above, this example shows that the Drudge Report has been good for me.

The White House is lamenting the influence that the Drudge Report is having on the news. Again.

According to the Washington Examiner:

During a Playbook Breakfast event with Politico’s Mike Allen, White House Senior Advisor Dan Pfeiffer lamented the effect of the Drudge Report on the news cycle.

“This is less true now than it was, but there is a pavlovian response from some media outlets,” Pfeiffer explained, noting that reporters often ask questions about a topic just because its on the Drudge Report. 

Pfeiffer added that when he is asked about something on the Drudge Report he usually ridicules the reporter asking the question until they sheepishly back down. 

Pfeiffer said that the Drudge effect can be damaging to the White House effort to communicate their message, even though he insisted he was “fairly ambivalent” to what Matt Drudge puts up on his site every day.

If the Obama Administration were interested in telling the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth (and accuracy), they wouldn't have a care in the world about what the Drudge Report posts.  The Drudge Report is an aggregator of news that other outlets put out.  On occasion, Matt Drudge does write up news stories of his own.  The problem is, the White House wants to control what people see and wants to eliminate all opposition, which is typical of the left.  This has been true since Obama has been in politics.

They really shouldn't complain as a vast majority of the lamestream media act as lapdog mouthpieces for the administration.  The term, "state-controlled media" isn't too far off the mark.

Maybe they're just mad that the Drudge Report carries ads from Amazon'e Kindle Store for the ebook edition of The Monster Movie Fan's Guide To Japan on occasion.

Biased News Media Heads Hit With Open Letter

An Open Letter to the Biased News Media:

This election year, so much of the broadcast networks, their cable counterparts, and the major establishment print media are out of control with a deliberate and unmistakable leftist agenda. To put it bluntly: you are rigging this election and taking sides in order to pre-determine the outcome. In the quarter century since the Media Research Center was established to document liberal media bias, there has never been a more brazen and complete attempt by the liberal so-called “news” media to decide the outcome of an election.

A free and balanced media are crucial to the health of this country. It is your duty as journalists – as outlined in the Society of Professional Journalists’ Code of Ethics – to “distinguish between advocacy and news reporting,” while simultaneously “seeking truth and providing a fair and comprehensive account of events and issues.”

There is a reason why the media are viewed with such disdain by the American public, as evidenced by every recent poll on the issue.

You have breached the public trust by willfully turning a blind eye to the government’s public policy failures, both domestic and foreign, while openly and shamefully smearing Gov. Mitt Romney. You are:

• Painting conservative ideas as extreme, while refusing to report the disastrous consequences of liberal programs enacted since 2008.

• Submerging the truly horrendous economic conditions America is facing and focusing only on minor political issues.

• Characterizing conservatives as cruel budget “slashers” instead of responsible officials trying to avoid a debt catastrophe.

• Focusing on alleged shortcomings in Romney’s business record instead of Obama’s record as the chief executive, whose policies contributed to a failed economy.

• Deliberately covering up embarrassing government failures and scandals, including the Solyndra debacle, Fast & Furious, and national security leaks which have put American lives in jeopardy.

• Pouncing on real and perceived missteps by conservatives, portraying them as bumbling incompetents, while suppressing embarrassing and incendiary remarks made by Vice President Joe Biden to prevent him from becoming a liability.

• Portraying conservative opposition to tax hikes as an impediment to deficit reduction while failing to highlight how liberal tax increase policies will cause massive damage to the economy and cause the deficit to explode.

• “Fact-checking” conservatives in order to discredit their arguments while regularly refusing to "fact-check" liberals who are distorting the truth.

We the undersigned – representing millions of Americans from our respective organizations – are now publicly urging our members to seek out alternative sources of political news in order to make an intelligent, well-informed decision on November 6.

Romney's Overseas Trip A Triumph

If one is relying just on the biased reporting by the liberal mainstream media, one would conclude that GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney's overseas trip was a failure.  One recent survey found that the MSM's reporting on the Romney campaign has been 86% negative.

Washington Post columnist Charles Krauthammer has an article analysing Romney's trip.  He declares it "a triumph."  Here's some passages from the article:

The Warsaw leg was a triumph. Romney’s speech warmly embraced Poland’s post-communist experiment as a stirring example of a nation committed to limited government at home and a close alliance with America abroad, even unto such godforsaken war zones as Afghanistan and Iraq, at great cost to itself and with little thanks. 

And at his previous stop, Jerusalem, Romney’s speech was a masterpiece of nuance and restraint. Without directly criticizing Obama, Romney drew pointed distinctions deftly expressed in the code words and curlicued diction of Middle East diplomacy. 

Look at how Romney was received. In Israel, its popular prime minister lavished on him a welcome so warm as to be a near-endorsement. In Poland, Romney received an actualendorsement from Lech Walesa, former dissident, former president, Cold War giant, Polish hero.  

Scorecard? Romney’s trip was a major substantive success: one gaffe (Britain), two triumphs (Israel and Poland) and a fine demonstration of foreign-policy fluency and command — wrapped, however, in a media narrative of surpassing triviality.

Media Shielding Obama Over Gas Prices

Notice how the mainstream media ("state-controlled media") hasn't put out any stories on how the high gasoline prices (now creeping to $5/gallon with some areas already at $5/gallon) are causing suffering? Where's those "pain at the pump" stories that we saw during the Bush years?

In fact, some even put out stories on how good it is to have $5/gallon prices. What they are doing is trying to protect President Obama.

High oil and gasoline prices have a ripple effect on the rest of the economy. Higher prices for clothing, food and anything else that relies on transport are now taking hold.

There are several reasons for the current high gasoline prices. You only hear about the turmoil in the Middle East as the culprit.

Big Journalism.com has an article on the reason for high gas prices. According to the article, there are three reasons for high gasoline prices:

The real reasons are three-fold, with unrest in the middle east being the least of the three.

1) Devaluation of the dollar. The incessant printing of money by this administration began the rise of gas prices months long before the middle east blew up. I’m no Alan Greenspan, but I can figure out that if oil prices are tied to the dollar, and you print more dollars, the oil price will go up, up, up.

2) An energy policy that calls for less drilling for oil at home, not more.

3) Unrest in the middle east.

Tohoku Earthquake Coverage

Above, the earthquake-generated tsunami about to engulf homes in Natori, Miyagi Prefecture.

Tomorrow night (L.A. time) will mark one week since the Tohoku Earthquake and tsunami struck northeastern Japan.

If one wants to read about the people of Japan and the rescue efforts currently underway, all they will mostly find in the U.S. media is hysterical reporting on the damaged Japanese nuclear reactors. Of course, those are important stories. But the U.S. media appears to be concentrating on that instead of the plight of the Japanese people. And much of the reporting is erroneous.

Even the usually-reliable FoxNews seems to be concentrating on the damaged nuclear power plants.

I had better luck in finding stories on the people and rescue efforts from the Japanese news outlets NHK and Kyodo News along with the Japanese newspaper, The Daily Yomiuri.

I lost what little faith I had in the American news media during the 2008 election campaign with its blatant biased reporting. So this doesn't really surprise me all that much.

At least I learned something tonight:

The Japanese name for the March 11 earthquake is "Tohoku-Chiho Taiheiyo-Oki." Roughly translated, it means, "Pacific offshore Tohoku region." Oddly, I found this information from the Los Angeles Times' website. The USGS is dubbing it the Tohoku Earthquake, a shortened version of the Japanese name. I've been using "Tohoku Earthquake" even before learning of the USGS naming. It makes perfect sense, since the Tohoku region was the hardest hit.

Barry Obama: "The Great Crybaby"

President Obama recently gave an interview with the fading Rolling Stone magazine. In the interview, the President said this about FoxNews:

I think Fox is part of that tradition — it is part of the tradition that has a very clear, undeniable point of view. It’s a point of view that I disagree with. It’s a point of view that I think is ultimately destructive for the long-term growth of a country that has a vibrant middle class and is competitive in the world. But as an economic enterprise, it’s been wildly successful. And I suspect that if you ask Mr. Murdoch what his number-one concern is, it’s that Fox is very successful.

Just what "point-of-view" is destructive, Mr. President? Liberty? Freedom? Free-enterprise? Smaller government? Low taxes? Less spending? Strong defense? A vigorous war on terror?

The President is whining about the success of FoxNews. Maybe it's because it isn't part of the ruling-class liberal media, which, by the way, is floundering on the rocks.

Obama, the Democrat congress and the liberal media have to blame someone (or something) else for their failures. They can't grasp the fact that their policies are total and complete failures. Their puppet sycophantic media drones can't bring themselves to report the truth because it is counter to their talking points propaganda.

While Ronald Reagan became known as "The Great Communicator" while in office, Obama is becoming known as "The Great Crybaby."

Mainstream Media Conspired To Kill Jeremiah Wright Story

You don't think that the mainstream media is in bed with Barack Obama and the Democrats? Guess again and read on.

The Daily Caller has unearthed documentation that journalists conspired to save Obama's campaign during the height of the Jeremiah Wright scandal in 2008.

The Daily Caller's article begins with:

It was the moment of greatest peril for then-Sen. Barack Obama’s political career. In the heat of the presidential campaign, videos surfaced of Obama’s pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, angrily denouncing whites, the U.S. government and America itself. Obama had once bragged of his closeness to Wright. Now the black nationalist preacher’s rhetoric was threatening to torpedo Obama’s campaign.

The crisis reached a howling pitch in mid-April, 2008, at an ABC News debate moderated by Charlie Gibson and George Stephanopoulos. Gibson asked Obama why it had taken him so long – nearly a year since Wright’s remarks became public – to dissociate himself from them. Stephanopoulos asked, “Do you think Reverend Wright loves America as much as you do?”

Watching this all at home were members of Journolist, a listserv comprised of several hundred liberal journalists, as well as like-minded professors and activists. The tough questioning from the ABC anchors left many of them outraged. “George [Stephanopoulos],” fumed Richard Kim of the Nation, is “being a disgusting little rat snake.”

Others went further. According to records obtained by The Daily Caller, at several points during the 2008 presidential campaign a group of liberal journalists took radical steps to protect their favored candidate. Employees of news organizations including Time, Politico, the Huffington Post, the Baltimore Sun, the Guardian, Salon and the New Republic participated in outpourings of anger over how Obama had been treated in the media, and in some cases plotted to fix the damage.

Part of the strategy was to tar a conservative critic with the "racist" lable to distract from the Wright story.

This only backs what many of us have always known, that the mainstream media is biased and are in the hip pockets of the Left. The are no journalists, these people are just propagandists for the Left.

Media and Obama Blame Game

After the Obama Administration initially said "the system worked" (Napalitano), they have shifted gears and are now trying to blame others, with the usual assist by the Obama propagandists in the media.

Predictably, the mainstream media along with the Obama Administration are trying to blame the Bush Administration for the screw-up over the airline bombing attempt on Christmas Day.

They are blaming the mess-up on "the system in place" with Bush bureaucrat hold-overs.

Sorry, there may be hold-overs in the bureaucracy, but the management personnel are appointed by the Obama Administration. Some even floated the balloon that someone in the intelligence services plotted to allow this to happen to make "Obama look bad."

Obama did not bother to make a statement until days later. He didn't want to interrupt his Hawaiian vacation.

Sorry, the continual blame game by the Obama Administration is not fooling anyone as they do it whenever a major screw-up occurs. Which is often.

Remember, we were not attacked following September 11, 2001 to the end of the Bush Administration.

Media Cover-Up Of Climategate

A tale of destroyed documents, fraud, conspiracy and the misuse of millions of government dollars would seem to have all the juicy ingredients of a scandal that journalists would kill to cover. However, the mainstream media apparently doesn't think that Climategate is news. ABC News hasn't deemed the story newsworthy. Neither has CBS nor NBC. If Americans only got their news from the networks, they would not know about the global-warming fraud or would merely think there was a simple misunderstanding about what scientists meant in some vague e-mails.

Thus began an article from the Washington Times on the lack of news coverage by the mainstream or, (as Rush Limbaugh calls them) the state-run media, on the growing scandal over the hacked emails of scientists who manipulated data on global warming.

It is obvious that the media is in bed with the liberals on the climate change issue and would not cover any news that exposes the issue as a fraud. A lot of public policy hinges on whether or not alleged climate change is caused by man, if it is even happening at all. (There's been no global warming since 1998.) Obama's cap-and-trade (i.e., cap and tax) legislation is dependent on the climate change issue.

L.A. Times "Fans" of Obama

The Los Angeles Times editorialized on Obama's Nobel Peace Prize award today. While I don't disagree with their overall position of the prize, there is one thing that is really telling about the editorial policy of the Times itself.

They wrote in part:

For our part, we're fans of the president. We endorsed him for the job, and we greatly prefer him to his predecessor. [Italics mine.] But it's difficult to see why he deserves the peace prize so soon after taking office. The Nobel committee didn't just embarrass Obama, it diminished the credibility of the prize itself, which traditionally rotates among world leaders (Willy Brandt, Mikhail Gorbachev), charitable organizations (Amnesty International, Doctors Without Borders) and humanitarians (Elie Wiesel, Mother Teresa).

Note that the Times confessed that they are "fans" of Obama. How is a paper to remain editorially honest and also be credible in its news reporting if they are in Obama's pocket? That is an idiotic stance for any newspaper (or any news outlet) to take. Taking their own words from above, the Times "diminished the credibility" of their own paper by admitting they are "fans."

In a way, it is not surprising since the media in general has been in the tank for Obama. The slanted reporting and constant gushing during the 2008 campaign were obvious. Also, the L. A. Times is now owned by the Tribune Co. from Chicago, which is Obama's hometown (with all of its corrupt Democrat politics).

Perhaps it is time that the Los Angeles Times rids itself of its current editorial staff or is sold to an entity who has journalistic and editorial integrity. If they can't do either, then they should close down for good.
