Made It To Ely, Nevada

Yesterday, Sierra and I made it into Lake Havasu City, Arizona to spend the night before heading off today to Idaho (skipping the Wells Fun Run).

Last year, I wore a lot of tire rubber on Mitch Geriminsky's very steep driveway (see photo below) with the motorhome. Climbing the driveway wasn't as bad as trying to back down it.

Rather than put up with that, I elected to stay at the Crazy Horse Campground at Lake Havasu. I stayed there four years ago (after sending her a picture of Sierra here, my honorary sister replied, "Much better this time with a real cat instead of a catty monster 😉") and it is a good place to stay. (She was referring to Denise Santos, with whom I last stayed at this campground.)

After dinner, Mitch and I grabbed some beverages and put our chairs into the lake and relaxed with our feet and legs in the water. It was around 100° that evening.

We got up early and headed out to Ely, Nevada. I made reservations at the KOA in Ely. We arrived there around 3:30 PM.

We will be heading to Bill Wilson's in Buhl, Idaho tomorrow morning. He is unable to attend the Wells Fun Run due to his blood cancer and chemo treatments.

While driving through Las Vegas, Nevada, we were subjected to downpours of rain. This was the first time I had been in Las Vegas during any precipitation. That was interesting.

It was surprising how quick we got to Ely, except for the last 100 miles due to a little fatigue.

By the way, The Beast finally clocked over 40,000 miles on this trip.
