The Worst Time to Visit Key West

One of the highlights of a cruise a friend and I took to Havana, Cuba was a stopover in Key West, Florida.

I enjoyed the stop and wanted to go back two years ago. Unfortunately, the pandemic settled that.

Tourists planning on visiting the city better be in the mood to party, as Key West is famously known for its fantastic nightlife and the bars and nightclubs are open throughout the day and night. This contributes to one of the highest bar rates per capita in the United States. The community here is welcoming to everyone, including the LGBTQ community. Most people prefer to travel to Key West during winter because the weather there is sunny and warm, unlike the rest of the country.

But every season has its advantages and disadvantages. From these, you can deduce the worst and best times for you to visit the magnificent island. So what is the worst time to visit Key West? The best and worst times to visit will depend on an individual and what they are looking to get out of the vacation. Depending on your plans and the activities you want, your worst time could be during winter or spring. So let’s get into some things to consider before planning your trip.
