Spring Storm, Etc.

Above, the crab apple tree in front of the house is getting leaves. Photo by Armand Vaquer.

Earlier, I was telling a friend that one can tell spring is here when the prairie dogs are out.

Besides that, one can tell by the trees that are beginning to bud and leaf. That's the case with to crab apple trees and the elms. I don't see anything yet with the Russian olive trees.

I went out to fire up The Beast in the GOCO Beast Barn to fully charge the house battery for the holding tank heaters for tonight. It is forecast to go down to around 31° tonight. The last two nights were warmer and the holding tank heaters weren't needed.

While out, I took some pictures. We had light rain last night and this morning. It has quit for now, although we might get some scattered thunderstorms. It is about 50° outside.
