Got To the Post Office

Above, after returning from the post office at the Flying J. Photo by Armand Vaquer.

Thanks to a neighbor with a plow, I was able to go down to the Flying J to get my mail at the post office inside.

Today's snow was about 4-5 inches deep (which is the most we've received from one storm this season) and I wouldn't chance driving the Mustang in it.

But seeing that my neighbor plowed the snow from our road, I jumped into the Jeep and headed over to the post office.

I did manage to watch two John Wayne movies from the 1930s today, part of the John Wayne Collection DVD set. The first was Blue Steel (1934, Lone Star) and then Lawless Range (1935, Republic Pictures). In these movies, he sounded and delivered his dialog like the John Wayne we're all familiar with (compared to The Big Trail in 1929).

The snow will be staying on the ground for a while as it is now 27° outside. That's it for snowstorms this week until (maybe) Sunday.

From the National Weather Service:

Tonight
Areas of freezing fog after 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 18. Southeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm.
Wednesday
Mostly cloudy through mid morning, then gradual clearing, with a high near 38. West wind 5 to 15 mph.
Wednesday Night
Mostly clear, with a low around 13. West wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light and variable after midnight.
Thursday
Sunny, with a high near 42. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph in the afternoon.
