The Democrats in Santa Fe are acting more and more like totalitarians each day.
They are currently hearing (and possibly voting) SB5 in the House chamber in the state capitol.
Audrey Trujillo, moderator of Gun Owners of New Mexico Facebook page, posted the following alarming report on the proceedings:
This is really disturbing behavior! The Sheriffs were being treated like criminals and even escorted to the bathrooms while they awaited.👎😡🤬

Update on SB5 “Red Flag Law”: Tony MaceI’m here at the capital building watching SB5 as it is being presented in the House of Representatives. We have asked for several reasonable amendments to the bill.
However, the Governor has ordered the Democratic Party to pass the bill with no amendments, because the bill would have to go back to the Senate for affirmation. Both sides agree there is bad language in the bill that will affect municipalities and counties as it relates to tort claims and insurance.
Why the rush? Because the Governor wants to have a signing tomorrow on the anniversary of the Parkland Shooting surrounded by children.
That’s right folks. Your municipalities and counties will pay millions in bad legislation because our Governor wants a photo opt!
The red flag bill passed. This is no surprise as the Democrats have more of a lock on that legislative body. 41 to 29.
