Monsoon Season Finally Arrived

After a very dry June, we are finally getting a late start with our monsoon season. The area is very brown from the lack of rain. It started in earnest on Monday.

We got some rain yesterday afternoon.

The coming days (at least according to the National Weather Service), we're expected to have rain and thunderstorms of varying percentages. The area should start "greening up" soon.

Here's the forecast for the coming week:

Overnight

Isolated showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 58. Calm wind. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Saturday

Scattered showers and thunderstorms after noon. Mostly sunny, with a high near 87. Light and variable wind becoming north 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Saturday Night

Isolated showers and thunderstorms before 9pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 55. North wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light and variable in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
