Snow, Cold and Windy

Above, the deck yesterday morning. Photo by Armand Vaquer.

While putting my laundry in the washer this morning, I took a look outside from the back door and noticed that we're still getting snow showers.

The snow had been falling overnight and there's about a quarter inch of it on the ground. Yesterday's snow that fell during the night and early morning disappeared by noon. But more came later.

At least we're not in the Denver area which, I read, has been getting a lot of snow this weekend.

Right now, besides snow showers, we're under a High Wind Advisory. That's what kept me indoors yesterday. The cold winds go right through you.

For Jamestown, New Mexico, the National Weather Service forecast is:

 Today

Scattered snow showers, mainly before 3pm. Areas of blowing snow after 3pm. Cloudy, with a high near 42. Windy, with a west wind 25 to 35 mph, with gusts as high as 45 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Tonight
Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly clear, with a low around 26. Breezy, with a west wind 20 to 25 mph decreasing to 10 to 15 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 35 mph.
Monday
Mostly sunny, with a high near 52. Southwest wind 10 to 20 mph.
Monday Night
Partly cloudy, with a low around 26. South wind 15 to 20 mph decreasing to 5 to 10 mph after midnight.
Tuesday
A 40 percent chance of snow showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 39. Breezy, with a west wind 10 to 15 mph increasing to 20 to 25 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 35 mph.
