Gallup Inter-Tribal Ceremonial To Be "Virtual"

The following image and text were posted on May 27 at the Gallup Real True Facebook page:

Exciting News Coming Soon!

One of the City of Gallup’s and New Mexico’s oldest events, the first Gallup Inter-Tribal Indian Ceremonial (GITIC) was held September 28, 1922 and was created to welcome and celebrate the diversity of Native American and Indigenous intertribal culture, art, songs & dances and more!

From this, I gather that there will be no Gallup Inter-Tribal Indian Ceremonial at Red Rock Park and at other Gallup venues.

I smell the state's involvement here. It says an announcement is coming soon. Sorry, but a virtual Ceremonial doesn't cut it and I am not impressed.

I blogged about the state's meddling with the Ceremonial back in April. This reeks of their handiwork.
