Busy Day In Gallup

Today started out with a very gusty storm that included high winds (with gusts of around 75 mph), rain, snow, lightning and sub-freezing temperatures.

We probably got around a half inch to one inch of snow on the ground. But the temperature turned it into ice that lasted until late morning in Jamestown and Gallup, New Mexico.

I took Larry Lucier to his medical appointment and physical therapy in Gallup today. While he was in his medical check-up, I went into Gallup to see if some items left to be matted and framed were ready. They weren't ready, but will be Friday.

I then stopped at Glenn's bakery and had a couple of donuts and coffee. From there, I headed to Perry Null Trading to browse around. Not too long after I left there, Larry called and said he was ready to be picked up.

From there, we did some different errands before I dropped Larry off at his physical therapy session. I then wandered around the Gallup Goodwill store and got a cup of Orange Julius at the local Dairy Queen.

After Larry was done with his physical therapy, we went for dinner at the El Rancho Hotel. I think this was the first time I've seen the hotel with Christmas decorations.

We had a good meal and headed home to Jamestown with no traffic problems. All in all, not a bad day.

We had some snow, but it was only about a half inch. But it was so cold that it iced up the streets and roads until about noon.
