It has been announced that a land acquisition has added to the size of Wyoming's Grand Teton National Park.
National Parks Traveler posted:
A 35-acre parcel has been added to Grand Teton National Park, protecting both wildlife habitat and viewsheds.
The acquisition was made possible by The Conservation Fund, funding through the Land and Water Conservation Fund, and the Hauge, Laughlin, and Resor families. The addition was announced last Saturday to mark Grand Teton's 93rd birthday. The purchase price was not announced.
The National Park Service and The Conservation Fund have worked in partnership over the last two decades to protect 140 acres to date in the southwestern corner of the park. The latest acquisition marks the fourth such parcel purchased by the National Park Service in cooperation with The Conservation Fund and the families, utilizing funding from the Land and Water Conservation Fund.
