Storm Front Arrived

Above, the historic El Rancho Hotel lobby. Photo by Armand Vaquer.

A cold front came into the Gallup/Jamestown area this evening. Larry Lucier and I were in Gallup for his usual physical therapy appointment.

It had been a windy but comfortable day (around 63°) today with clear skies. But round 4:00 this afternoon as we went to the El Rancho Hotel for dinner, we could see the cold front in the west coming in.

By the time we were done with dinner, the area was cloudy with light misty moisture.

Thankfully, we got back to Jamestown before the rain/snow started. But it got noticeably colder.

According to the National Weather Service, the Jamestown weather tonight is as follows:

Tonight
Rain and snow showers before 11pm, then a slight chance of snow showers between 11pm and 2am. Low around 22. West wind 15 to 20 mph decreasing to 5 to 10 mph after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Total nighttime snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.
