RV Park Life: Any Changes?

Very few RV parks are open, mainly for long-term guests, but some still welcome short-term customers.

So how is RV park life right now? RV Life provides a glimpse into the current state of affairs.

Many RVers like me prefer wide open spaces and boondocking over full-hookups and paved parking spaces. But in a pandemic, guess where most of us headed? You guessed it, RV parks. And when we arrived, one thing was clear: coronavirus has changed RV park life, at least somewhat, depending on where you landed. This is what living in RV parks looks like right now, according to RVers from coast-to-coast.

If Things Were Normal

If things were normal, right now I would be in my motorhome camping with the Lost Dutchman Chapter of E Clampus Vitus in Quartzsite, Arizona.

The closest I've come to Quartzsite (besides driving through it) was back in December when I spent a night at the Arizona Oasis RV Resort in nearby Ehrenberg, Arizona.

Due to the outbreak of COVID-19 virus, the camping trip had been postponed to a future date (whenever that'll be). Originally, it was speculated that the clampout would be held in May, but it really is hard to say when anyone will get the "all clear" notice to resume normal activities. It could still be held in May, but it is not possible to say for sure at this point.

So, we'll all just have to sit it out and wait for the virus to run its course. 

Arizona Oasis RV Resort On The Colorado River

After a relaxing and invigorating shower, I took a stroll down to the Arizona Oasis RV Resort's shore on the Colorado River.

The park has a nice stretch of shoreline that looks to be a fun place during the warmer spring and summer months. It stopped raining long enough for me to walk down to the river and back.

At the shore, the park has their Riverside Slide water flume. Right now, it wouldn't be advisable to use as the water level of the river is down and anyone sliding down the slide would wind up in mud. I imagine the water level is sufficiently higher to use during the spring and summer.

There was also a couple of cabins available for rent near the slide. The park has several rental cabins.

It is primarily an RV park with some rows of sites with a roof.

Right now, there are RV "snowbirds" from northern states escaping the snows back home. There are also some with water toys of different kinds.

The park has a big clubhouse, spa, pool, dog walk areas with dog washers and a big clubhouse. This place probably hops during the warmer months. I wouldn't mind staying here during those times of the year.

Thursday nights, the park usually holds a bonfire at the beach. But it is likely canceled tonight due to the rainy weather. They hold different events each night (weather permitting).
