Back in February, it was announced that a special collaboration between the U.S. Mint and the Royal Mint resulted in a special Liberty & Britannia Silver Medal.
I ordered one at the time and the release of the medals would take place in May.
Well, mine arrived Tuesday.

Here's something new that I haven't seen before.
It is a Dracula silver round by the Intaglio Mint in Colorado. It contains 1oz of .999 fine silver.
According to SD Bullion:

Personally, I don't collect silver rounds, but I am sure someone reading this likely does.

The 2023 American Silver Eagle Proof coin I bought last Saturday at the National Money Show is from the West Point Mint.
From Austin Rare Coins & Bullion:
The West Point Mint manufactures the entire family of American Eagle proof and uncirculated coins in gold, silver, and platinum. Gold and Platinum Coins are manufactured in denominations of one-ounce, half-ounce, quarter-ounce and tenth -ounce. Silver bullion Coins are manufactured in one-ounce denomination.
Originally, the West Point Bullion Depository was erected in 1937 as a storage facility for Silver Bullion and was nicknamed "The Fort Knox of Silver." From 1973 to 1986, West Point produced cents, and in 1980 began striking Gold medallions.
March 31, 1988 was the date when the American Mint at West Point gained official status as a U.S. Mint. Today it is still a storage facility, but also manufactures, packages and ships Gold and Silver commemorative coins, and American Eagle Bullion coins in proof and uncirculated condition. Its Platinum Eagles have been very popular since their first issuance in 1997. In 2000, it struck the first ever Gold and Platinum Bi-Metallic Coin. There are no public tours at the West Point facility due to its extremely high security.

The regular American Silver Eagle bullion coin has been available for a few weeks. I have one already.
Yahoo! Finance has reported that the proof edition will be available for orders on March 2 at $80.00/coin. These are minted at West Point.
They reported:
Washington, DC, Feb. 24, 2023 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The United States Mint (Mint) will accept orders for the 2023 American Eagle Silver Proof Coin (W) beginning on March 2 at noon EST. This one ounce proof coin is minted to demand, with orders limited to 25 coins per household for the first 24 hours of sale.
Produced at the United States Mint at West Point since 1986, American Eagle Silver Proof Coins are collector versions of the official United States Mint American Eagle Silver Bullion Coins. These popular silver collectibles were updated in 2021 with a refreshed obverse (heads) and a completely redesigned reverse (tails) to mark the 35th anniversary of the American Eagle Coin Program.

While going through the coins I found in the strong box I had a locksmith open, I found a Mexican five peso coin from 1953.
It is called the Hidalgo Silver Commemorative.
It is the size of a U.S. silver dollar. As I knew nothing about the coin, I took a look online to learn about it.
It turns out that the coin is a circulating commemorative silver coin celebrating the bicentennial of Hidalgo's birth.

Earlier this month, I ordered a 2021 Morgan Silver dollar and an American Silver Eagle.
The 2021 Morgan silver dollar is a centennial commemorate coin. I just checked and my coins are en route from Gallup.
Numismatic News has an article on this and the old Morgan and Peace dollars. Regular readers of this blog know that I have a big fondness for the Morgan silver dollar.

In the year 2021, the United States Mint got just about every collector to sit up and take notice when they unveiled the 2021 Morgan and Peace dollars as centennial versions of the two classic series. The ever-present interest in the Morgan and Peace dollars went up a further notch and stayed there as the new versions were unveiled. To the chagrin of many in the collector community, the very next year the official word was that silver from suppliers to the Mint had been disrupted by the COVID pandemic, and there would be no Morgan and Peace dollars dated 2022. That announcement got many of us thinking that the 2021’s were going to be a one-hit wonder or the proverbial flash in the pan, and thus the dust settled a bit. But right now, the Mint is planning to release a set of 2023 Morgan and Peace dollars – probably with the same wealth of mint marks or privy marks as before – and this means we might be at the beginning of a new series. Whether this will grow over time to something as established and respected as the silver Eagles is still a mystery. But the time may indeed be ripe to look at collecting the classic Morgan and Peace dollars, or if we have already done so, at examining just what might still qualify as a good deal.
