While outside this evening to feed the local stray cats, I decided to check on how well the concrete that anchors the signpost had set.
I am happy to report that the concrete set very well and the signpost is very strongly held in. One can't even budge it. The signpost just bends a little and that's it. The concrete will only get stronger as time goes on.
What I used is 60# Quikrete Concrete Mix ($3.70 a bag at Home Depot) that all one needs to do is simply add water. It sets very fast, about 20 to 30 minutes. It is ideal for pouring concrete slabs and setting posts.
It worked great. Recommended.
