Tonight was spent in Gallup for a monthly supper group meeting at the home of local Gallup historian Martin Link. He is trying to get the historical buildings of Fort Wingate preserved as a monument.
It was a small group of about ten people interested in what's happening in Gallup and things of historical nature in the community.
I was invited to the supper meeting by Greg Lucier, one of the guys in Jamestown I hang out with at Denny's in the Flying J.

Before dinner started, Mr. Link gave me some help and ideas on getting an E Clampus Vitus plaque erected in the Gallup area. One suggestion was to erect a monument near the El Rancho Hotel where there are several other monuments.
Link's home looks like a museum of Indian and Southwest art. I was told that he changes the paintings each month. I was most impressed with the architecture of his home, especially the ceiling.
This marked the first time that I have tried elk meat. It was a lot like beef in texture and flavor. Not bad! It was brought by Greg.
