Watching The Balloon Rally Forecasts

Above, this afternoon's view of the mesas. Photo by Armand Vaquer.

The 38th Red Rock Balloon Rally is to begin this coming Friday at Red Rock Park near Gallup. I've been keeping an eye on the weather forecasts for Friday, November 30, the day the balloon rally is set to begin.

Thus far, it appears that there may be rain and snow showers starting on Thursday night and going through Friday. Hopefully, the conditions will change for the better.

The weather wouldn't bother me if I am able to stay at the Red Rock Park Campground, but it may affect the balloon rally. They launch them in a field next to the campground. There will be 150 of them.

As of today, it has been sunny out, but with windy conditions.

As of now, this is the forecast for the area (Red Rock Park is about nine miles away):

Thursday Night
A 30 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 29.
Friday
A 40 percent chance of snow showers. Some thunder is also possible. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 42.
Friday Night
A 20 percent chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 23.
